GETTING BADGED
Interested in helping out in the classroom next year? Chaperoning a field trip? Volunteering at field day?

Nevada state law requires that all volunteers who have unsupervised or regular contact with students be fingerprinted and background checked by CCSD.

Because of this, some volunteer opportunities throughout the school year are only available to those who have been badged.

Last year, some people who applied for their badge after the school year began waited 3-4 months to receive their badges! If you think you MIGHT want to help out during the school year, avoid the rush and apply for your badge ASAP!

Badged but Expired
If your original badge is less than 5 years old, you are eligible to receive an extension sticker from the Ellis office once you view the updated training videos as mandated by CCSD. These are expected by late August/early September 2023.
You will be notified by email once these are available.
Badged before 2019
If your badge expired in May 2018 or earlier, you will need to contact CCSD HR to fingerprint again. Please call CCSD HR at 702-799-2992 Option 1 to schedule your appointment.
If your badge expired in May 2019, please also contact CCSD HR at 702-799-2992 Option 1 to confirm if you need fingerprint again.
The Ellis office does NOT have access to the CCSD HR list of when fingerprints cleared so they are unable to advise on the above.

Please note that the cost of fingerprinting is $55 payable online direct to CCSD.
